Day 9 Lewisporte to Butt’s Pond 81k

A surprising characteristic of this trip is that each day, at some level, is better than the day before. We have been blessed by the weather gods, avoided injuries and sickness, and other than a flat today (due to a faulty patch) we have had no equipment trouble!

Leaving Lewisporte at 9am we enjoyed the best riding yet through Glenwood, Appleton and then Gander where we cooled off by Cobb’s Pond. On through Benton for our PBJ sandwich lunch and then down to Butt’s Pond where we set up a cozy camp right on the beach.

A wash in the pond and another wonderful meal of soup, fish cakes and (of course) beans! Now we sit by a fire on the beach reflecting on the past 9 days and planning tomorrow.

Trail Conditions: Excellent
Weather: Sunny and warm
Issues: 1 flat
Distance Today: 81k
Distance So Far: 567k

An oddly place cable car near just west of Glenwood.
