After our nicest night camping yet with starry skies and temperatures staying near 20 degrees overnight, we enjoyed a breakfast of steel cut oats and fruit and hit the road before 9am. It was a blast down to Grand Falls Windsor for our trip mid-point and greetings from hockey-great Alex Faulkner! We ran into the only other bikers we've met so far, Will and Rose on their way from St. John's to Burgeo by mountain bike.
Skirting GFW the trail was fast and smooth into Bishop's Fall for our PBJ lunch on the banks of the Exploit's before we crossed the longest bridge in the province, with a little cooling dip on the other side. A long, straight, fast run into and through Norris Arm led us to an ice cream stop and a slight climb up to Notre Dame junction, the end of our day and the end of our first week.
Day 8 will be a day off relaxing with family and friends in Lewisporte before restarting Monday morning!
